At the Oct. 17 annual meeting, members will be asked to approve a measure to provide critically needed funding for improving our unpaved and paved roads.
Separate ballot items will look to help fund repair or replacement of park infrastructure, including fixing the river park’s gate and fence, which were severely damaged by July’s flood.
Current $55 annual fees pay for road and park maintenance, as well as property taxes, insurance and all other required POA administration costs. The amount these fees provide is woefully inadequate to ensure the quality of roads our members deserve and expect, and it allows for only limited maintenance and improvements for the parks, not large-scale replacement of infrastructure. The special assessment funds are being requested to fill the gaps.
Road funds requested with this special assessment will NOT pave or even fix all 26 miles of POA-maintained roads. The amount requested is far too small. It will, however, allow continuation of efforts to ensure that all roads are at least brought to a safe and comfortable standard that can then be maintained, with unpaved roadways leveled, crowned, and wet-rolled, and with paved roads improved by filling potholes and washouts. Drainage improvements will also be included.
Voting to extend the funding to 2028 and 2029 will improve the road department’s ability to plan and prioritize and to ensure that the work continues to cover more of the POA’s 94 roads.
All the roads need work. Some need only a little and can be brought to standard quickly. Others need much more. The first four roads to be fixed will be chosen at the annual meeting through a blind drawing, with attendees’ roads given a level of priority but with all roads included for potential selection.
Members who cannot attend have the option to request an absentee mail-in ballot at the POA office or at clgpoa@gvtc.com. Ballots must be mailed to CLGPOA, P.O. Box 422, Spring Branch, TX, 78070, and received by October 16. Ballots will not be counted after close of annual meeting.

This means that if there are amendments to these proposals your votes will not be counted on the final vote on these measures. If you desire to retain this ability, please attend any meeting in person. You may submit an absentee ballot and later choose to attend any meeting in person, in which case any in-person vote will prevail.
